Eljay's River Market Coffee House / An Arakawa solution
Once in awhile you need to work on a project, but don’t quite know how to get started and then realize it’s way beyond your expertise. That’s where the competent crew at Arakawa steps in...
Joy Koesten and her daughter Leah were working to put up their first art show at their newly opened community space, Eljay’s River Market Coffeehouse. Situated in a beautiful historic building on Delaware Street in the River Market District of Kansas City, Eljay’s is part of the 158 year-old history of Kansas Town (incorporated in 1850). As they experimented with a various “made-up” ways to hang their art Joy & Leah quickly realized they would need something more professional and easy to work with.
“When we heard about Arakawa we moved quickly to find out more,” said Joy, co-owner of Eljay’s. “Local artists are invited to display their work at Eljay’s River Market Coffeehouse. Since we have limited space we select artists carefully. Once an artist commits to showing his or her work, we provide information about the artist and post selected photographs of his or her work on our website.” Due to the large number of people who would be using the system it was important to Joy that the system she chose be flexible and easy to move around to accommodate different shows. “The system is really easy to install and to use. It’s light weight and very flexible, so with each new artist we can re-arrange the work to create a new look. Artists seem to LOVE that feature.”
In addition to obtaining an easy-to-use system Joy wanted to work with a company that listened and helped her come up with a solution for her particular space. When asked why she decided to work with Arakawa she replied, “The people! All of the representatives were very helpful. And considering we had never done anything like this before that was very important to me. They were patient in answering my questions and helped us work within our budget to get our first art show up.”
Congratulations to Joy & Leah on their joint mother-daughter venture in Kansas City! Arakawa is proud to have helped them get their first art show up and running quickly and to have our parts installed in such a creative space.
