Our Mission and Vision
The debut of the wire gripper we all know and love today was at JAPAN SHOP in 1980. From there, we have continued to grow and assist in hanging solutions for commercial, residential, art museums and galleries with our lineup of wire hanging tools.
Committing to maintaining high manufacturing standards, Arakawa’s products have been domestically manufactured in their Tokorozawa factory in Japan. This in house production ensures that all products going out can be thoroughly inspected before being shipped to their final destinations.
Mr. Uchiya and Dr. Arakawa are old university friends that had a mutual love of nature and mountain climbing.
Many years later, Mr.Uchiya was working at a major trading company while Dr. Arakawa was coming up with the final touches on the hanging system.
At Dr. Arakawa’s request, Mr. Uchiya began to handle the sales and promotion of the Arakawa Hanging system outside of Japan, with the first stop being the USA.
For the US office, we settled in Portland Oregon, where we still reside today. This location meant that Arakawa Hanging systems could now be imported and sold readily in the United States.
